About PPO
High-Temperature Antistatic Plastics
PPE (Polyphenylene Ether), also called PPO (Polyphenylene Oxide), is a high-performance engineering thermoplastic. It features excellent dimensional stability and high temperature resistance. Due to its low moisture absorption and high rigidity, PPE is especially suitable for applications requiring resistance to humidity and thermal deformation. It also has the lowest specific gravity of 1.06 among all engineering plastics.
Key Properties
- Excellent thermal stability: High glass transition temperature (Tg) of 215°C
- Low moisture absorption: Ensures dimensional stability, ideal for precision parts
- Good dimensional stability and moldability: Low warpage, suitable for injection molding
- Good mechanical strength and rigidity: Tensile and impact strength can be enhanced with glass fiber or fillers
Applications include
- Automotive interior parts (e.g., cooling system components, lamp housings)
- Household appliance housings
- Industrial parts (e.g., high-stability connectors, precision mechanisms)
